Good morning and welcome to 10 Things in Tech. If this was forwarded to you, sign up here.

Let's get started.

1. The recent GameStop fiasco is slated to become a movie. Reddit's Wall Street Bets founder, the man behind the rally in GameStop shares, signed with a Hollywood talent agency that reps Jessica Alba and Kevin Hart. Take a look at Hollywood's plan to immortalize the saga.

2. Telemarketers were fined $225 million for making one billion robocalls in five months. These two people, whose companies made health insurance-related spam calls, were fined a record amount by the FCC. Here's how robocalls became so frequent, and how you can stop them.

3. These are the 17 coolest startups created by ex-Coinbase employees. The digital currency exchange platform is home to some of the brightest minds in cryptocurrency, and a launchpad for big ideas. We explored the best startups from Coinbase alum.

4. Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison just moved to a Hawaiian island he's spent half a billion dollars developing. Ellison bought 98% of Lanai in 2012 for an estimated $300 million, and is now making it his full-time home — and a sustainability experiment. Here's how he did it.

5. Facebook will offer up to 20 days of PTO to employees who suffer domestic abuse or sexual assault. Citing the rise in domestic violence since the start of the pandemic, the company said it will offer paid leave to its employees — or their families — who are affected. A look at what we know so far.

6. Google plans to invest $7 billion in US offices, even while others eye permanent remote working. The tech giant is considering offices and data centers in Houston and Portland, a move that would create 10,000 new jobs. More on that here.

7. Apple is planning to launch new iPads as early as April. The new iPad Pro models will reportedly have faster processors and improved cameras. Here's what else you need to know about the newest devices.

8. In Germany, Tesla is struggling to find new talent. The company is looking to fill top positions — some with salaries up to $360,000 — that require years of niche experience. More on those 350 vacancies.

9. Hollywood stars like Tom Hanks and Ryan Reynolds are joining Iconiq. The secretive Silicon Valley firm for the ultra-wealthy is most known for its biggest member, Mark Zuckerberg. But the list goes far beyond the Facebook CEO — here are dozens of its top clients.

10. Compass CEO Robert Reffkin was a real estate outsider — but may become a brokerage billionaire anyway. We spoke with 12 people in his inner circle who described the social savvy and relentless ambition behind his ascent. This is what they told us.
