Coronavirus and the social impacts on Great Britain: 30 October 2020 This week's survey took place between 21-25 October. This was after the UK government introduced local COVID alert levels in England on 12 October 2020. Responses from Wales came both before and after the Coronavirus "firebreak" rules on 23 October. The ONS has trebled the sample size for England from this week. This means that in future, we will be able to provide more local level information on the impact the pandemic is having across the country, and variations seen according to different local circumstances. Read more about this in our blog. Findings from this week include: - Asked which of the local COVID alert levels they were in, respondents in England suggested nearly half (48%) were in tier 1, with 37% in tier 2, and 10% in tier 3.
- Most adults in England (78%) said it was easy or very easy to find out about alert levels in their area. Nearly 6 in 10 (57%) said television news was their main source of information on local restrictions, followed by the NHS COVID app (36%) and print or online news (35%)
