How's it all going for the feast? The wonderful woman who does my hair described her Thanksgiving as: "I'm not cooking one single thing!" The thrill and "aren't I naughty" on her face made my day! What I love about our family feast is that everyone brings a lot of food, so no one needs to do it all. This year Dan's brother and wifey are bringing the turkey!! Can you believe?! Bless them.
My guys wrestling the bird last year. It takes a village!
My personal cook-bake to-do list includes the sweet potatoes (Mom's candied yams, my favorite), mashers, gravy (should I make my own turkey stock? I think yes!), cranberry sauce, banana cream pie, plus a German chocolate cake. I can't dessert on such a day without chocolate buttercream.
And also: the appetizer table. This thing gets serious attention here. As in, we eat them all, as though there is not a giant feast spanning the entirety of the kitchen island happening in a few minutes.
Scroll down to see the appetizer recipes that always please!
And thank you, Shukran so much!, for trusting in my shop for your ingredients and gifts. Your response to the 2025 Habibi-Habibti Ornament touches my heart! Because it means we all just want to share habibi-love as much as possible.
