| | November 29, 2025 | Edition #166 | Hey, Hoophead! | Thanksgiving week continues to belong to the SEC, with yet another top program flexing its muscles. And this time, as the early-season chaos starts to settle in college basketball, the pros are keeping a close eye too because this season could define a lot. Especially with no clear-cut No. 1 pick yet. Meanwhile, speaking of draft, destiny smiled on Dallas, sending a surprise all the way from Spain. |

| | | | | Awa Fam Leans Toward Dallas? |
|
| | Remember that poll we ran a while back asking whether the Dallas Wings should go with Azzi Fudd or Lauren Betts? While the numbers leaned toward Fudd, the comments section had a totally different agenda, with everyone calling for one name from Spain: Awa Fam! | For some people, this might be the first time they're hearing about her, but Awa's been on the USA radar for a while. Ole Miss, Duke, LSU, UConn, TCU, everyone wanted her. But Fam chose home. Now, she's 19, polished, confident, and projected to go No. 1 in the 2026 WNBA Draft. | Oh, and she already has a WNBA idol she wants to model her game after. A name that won't shock you at all. Check if you guessed it right! | What is wild is the history she's about to brush up against. Fam could become the first player born outside the U.S. to be drafted first overall since Lauren Jackson in 2001. | On top of that, with Dallas holding the top pick…let's just say things are getting interesting. In her interview with Hunter Cruse, Fam shared her bucket-list WNBA cities: | Los Angeles Dallas Chicago
| And why Dallas? "I have one friend there, and she's like, 'this is amazing, you need to come here,'" she shared. Well, Dallas could be home for her. And to be honest, it would make a lot of sense for both parties. | Fam is young, but she's already battled pros in EuroLeague and suited up for Spain's senior national team. Pair her with Paige Bueckers and you have a dangerous pick-and-roll combo that could grow together fast. For Fam, that's immediate playing time and a significantly larger role compared to what the Lynx could give her. | Still, it's all speculation. The college season has a long way to shape things. We'll see what happens. |

| | | | History Roars in Baton Rouge |
|
| | History was made on Friday night! | The LSU Lady Tigers absolutely hammered Marist 113-53, and in doing so, they officially wrote themselves into the NCAA women's basketball record books. With seven straight games scoring 100+ points, they broke a 43-year-old record set by their coach Kim Mulkey's Louisiana Tech. | In a game where LSU shot 53.4% from the field and hit 25% from three, rebounding was the X-factor. Tigers outrebounded the Red Foxes 59-5. And their alumna Angel Reese had a bold take on her alma mater's win. Here's what she had to say! | Freshman Zakiyah Johnson led the charge with 19 points, while seven Tigers finished in double digits. | Meanwhile, over in Cancun, the No. 8 TCU women wrapped up their Mexico trip with a clean sweep in the Cancun Challenge. Their 82-61 blowout of UAB showed the emergence of a brand-new "big three": Olivia Miles, Marta Suarez, and Donovyn Hunter, who combined for 51 points in the win. | UAB hung around for a bit, trailing only 32-23 midway through the second. But the Horned Frogs flexed hard down the stretch. Safe to say, TCU knew exactly what they were getting with Miles as she continues to look like the nation's top point guard, putting up 18 points and six assists this time. | And then there's Iowa State. They met Marquette, the only Division I program returning every player from last season, and led wire-to-wire in an 84-73 win Friday morning. Audi Crooks led the way with 18 points, but the real story was on the boards, anchored by Jada Williams' 15 points and 11 rebounds double-double, with Arianna Jackson adding nine more rebounds. | Williams didn't just bring numbers, though. Her speed and quickness literally had her defender flat on the floor. As commentators put it, "That was nasty!" | Anyway, all this sets Iowa State up for the Blue Heron Division championship game on Sunday. | |

| | Does Drafting International Prospects with Pro Experience Give WNBA Teams an Edge? | | Last Poll's Result: We asked, "What Do You Think Would Be the Smartest Move for Dallas?" More than 51% of you want Dallas to draft Azzi Fudd. |
| | | The wild finish! What can you even do in 0.1 seconds? Blink? Maybe. But if you're Jess Moors, apparently you can save a whole game for your team. Florida Atlantic and Wright State spent the night trading punches, trading leads. And just when it looked like the Owls were out of time - down by one in the final seconds - Jess Moors came to the rescue, tying it up. With Just 0.1 seconds Left! You've got to watch it to believe it. | Then in overtime, with FAU up by one, they jumped the inbound pass with two seconds left and sealed the win. | Freshmen fury. Kim Mulkey's freshmen weren't ranked No. 1 for nothing. They've been powering this 100-point explosion every night, and one play yesterday pretty much screamed, "yeah, we're built different." In the second quarter, right as the opponent tried to inbound, Divine Bourrage zipped in like she teleported, snatched the ball in a flash, and instantly flipped it to fellow freshman ZaKiyah Johnson for the layup. | It happened so fast you'll probably need to rewind. Blink once and the whole thing disappears. She finished with three steals as Johnson (as we already mentioned) led the game. |

| | | A'ja Wilson doesn't touch offseason leagues, but somehow she's never off our screens. Her latest stop was "Hot Ones." And watching A'ja battle those wings was a whole experience but in between that, she dropped some pretty fiery takes of her own, especially on the whole dunking conversation in the WNBA. You'll chuckle at her reactions, but you'll definitely be thinking about what she said after. | And then you've got Angel Reese, who was busy giving back to the place that raised her. In her words, she invested in the "next generation of hoopers, leaders, and young women who'll change the world." Here's how the WNBA star honored her roots! |
