The festive C word. I have a turbulent relationship with this time of year, just to warn you. I love the food and spending time with people, but honestly, I eat very well, and I see my friends and family all the time? The aesthetic of Christmas isn’t great. Just me? There’s too much red. It makes me tense. I also hate the financial pressure it puts on people, and I feel overwhelmingly sad for those who don’t have anywhere to go. I saw an episode of EastEnders, ooh, maybe 20 years ago? It was about someone sitting at home, alone, eating a tangerine on Christmas Day and I STILL THINK ABOUT IT NOW. Every year! I think about lonely people and lonely pets and how it’s cold and some people are hungry and the world isn’t fair, and there’s something just so unbearably sad about the whole occasion. Feeling festive? SORRY. I just laughed out loud. Look, I’m going to do it all just the same as ever. You’ll be receiving the Flavour Nuggets Gift Guide on Tuesday (it’s *so* fun!
