Article Icon 1Second Street Gang in Two Weeks Dismantled

Phillip Baca Sr., leader of the west Denver "Few But Plenty" gang, took a plea deal on Monday and will face 33 years in prison for ordering and encouraging dozens of drive-by shootings between 2019 and 2022.

The District Attorney's office says the shootings targeted rival gangs, but innocent bystanders "who had nothing to do" with the feuds were often the victims.

Baca was one of 11 members of the gang indicted in 2022 and the last to plead guilty. Per his plea deal, he'll receive a 33-year sentence on June 27.

This is the second west Denver gang the DA's office has dismantled in as many weeks, with the leader and last indicted member of the street gang 2D$ accepting a 95-year sentence in a plea agreement last Monday.

Article Icon 1DNA Retest Challenges Murder Conviction

The attorney for Michael Clark, a Boulder man found guilty of murder in 2012, has filed a motion to overturn his conviction based on new DNA testing that challenges the original evidence.

Clark's lawyer alleges his conviction was based on misleading testimony by former Colorado Bureau of Investigation analyst Missy Woods, who faces felony charges related to DNA misconduct that impacted more than a thousand cases.

In Clark's trial, Woods testified that DNA found on a lip balm tube at the crime scene narrowed down the potential suspects, and did not rule out Clark.

In light of the investigation into Woods, the DNA sample was independently retested. While the new test doesn't exonerate Clark, it does provide limited support for his exclusion as a suspect.

Article Icon 1 Proposal Would Shift I-70 Truck Traffic to Rail

Brad Swratzwelter, a retired train conductor, is spearheading a proposal to alleviate congestion on the I-70 mountain corridor by transporting semi-trucks via the rail line that runs parallel to the interstate.

The plan involves loading semi-trucks and drivers onto flatbed trains near each end of I-70, allowing drivers to rest in sleeper cars while the train carries them over the Rockies. Austria uses a similar system over the Alps.

According to Swratzwelter, this would not only alleviate traffic and improve safety but also provide economic benefits to the state, which loses millions to I-70 closures caused by trucking accidents.

Swratzwelter believes the project would cost around $1 billion. His next steps are to conduct feasibility studies and get legislative support.

Final Two Days: Back a Team of Founders with $350M in Exits Combined

The clock is ticking on this opportunity to join a rocket scientist, an astronaut, and the co-inventor of the personal computer as they pioneer the next evolution in AI.

It's far from the first time this team has successfully grown a business—with $350M in previous exits and 100 patents combined. But this latest innovation could be their most groundbreaking yet, and you have just three days left to invest in New Sapience while they're private.

It's called Synthetic Intelligence, which lets machines learn and reason cognitively, like humans.

While ChatGPT and other large language models just rearrange words and "hallucinate", this is an opportunity to blaze the trail for a machine that truly understands and never makes things up. Bill Gates said that a company that builds a true AI could be "worth 10 Microsofts."

New Sapience's potential market is also huge–anyone with a smartphone and almost every business in every industry.

They're changing the share price soon. However, you can still invest at the $4 share price if you get in before the deadline.

Lock in the $4 share price while you still can!
