According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the state added 430,800 new jobs in January and February. You can see the report here. Florida's labor force job growth in major industries reached 11.1 million in February. The report suggests Florida's labor force has been consistently larger than estimated, with an upward revision of 162,000 workers. The education and health services sector gained the most jobs among all major industries, adding 7,200 jobs from the previous month. That was followed by leisure and hospitality, which added 6,100 jobs. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville were listed as the cities with the most new jobs in their regions. | Florida Metro Areas Dominate Growth List Four of the top 10 U.S. metro areas by percentage growth from July 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024, are in Florida, according to a report released by the United States Census Bureau. You can see the full report here. Ocala ranked No. 1 with 4% growth, followed by Panama City-Panama City Beach (No. 2), Lakeland-Winter Haven (No. 4), and Port St. Lucie (No. 7). By numeric growth—counting the increase in the actual number of people in a metro area—the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach metro area increased by 123,471 people, securing the No. 4 spot on the top 10 list.
