Article Icon 1Ogles Introduces Bill Allowing Trump Third Term

Republican U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles introduced a proposed amendment to the Constitution that would allow President Donald Trump to seek a third term in office, arguing that the nation needs his "bold leadership" to continue.

The 22nd Amendment prohibits U.S. presidents from serving more than two terms. In a statement, Ogles expressed his belief that Trump would need additional time to fully implement his policies.

The president has not expressed any plans to seek another run for office, and legislators say the proposed amendment is unlikely to move forward.

Article Icon 1Dollywood Donates Train for Hurricane Relief

Dollywood’s Engine 107 was donated to Knoxville & Holston River Railroad with plans to preserve it in exchange for a financial gift to Mountain Ways for Hurricane Helene.

The former Southern Railway engine, built by Baldwin in 1887, was displayed at the theme park's entrance for many years before representatives from the train company approached Dollywood about acquiring it.

Instead of selling the engine, an exchange was made to give it to Knoxville & Holston in exchange for a gift to help nearby victims of recent hurricane flooding.

Knoxville & Holston River, one of four Gulf & Ohio Railways short lines in the southeast, operates 26 miles of track in Knoxville, where it also operates the Three River Rambler passenger train.
