President Joe Biden awarded the Medal of Valor on Friday to eight people, including five members of the Nashville Police Department who responded to the tragic shooting at The Covenant School on March 27, 2023.

Sgt. Jeffrey Mathes, Officer Rex Engelbert, and Detectives Michael Collazo, Ryan Cagle, and Zachary Plese were recognized for their bravery during the incident, which claimed six lives.

The officers arrived swiftly at the scene, faced gunfire, evacuated classrooms, and ultimately neutralized the shooter, preventing further loss of life.

Other recipients of the Medal of Valor included Sgt. Tu Tran of a Nebraska police department, who rescued a woman from an icy pond, and New York City firefighters Lt. John Vanderstar and Brendan Gaffney, who performed life-saving rescues during apartment fires.

Article Icon 1Bill Proposes Ten Commandments at Schools

Rep. Michael Hale, a Republican from Smithville, has filed a bill to permit public schools across Tennessee to display the Ten Commandments alongside "other historically significant documents."

The bill specifies that these documents would be displayed in a "prominent" location to educate students about their historical significance and shared cultural heritage. See the bill here.

Hale's proposal echoes similar measures in states like Louisiana and Oklahoma, where schools are required—rather than simply allowed—to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms.

Tennessee ranked as the fifth-fastest growing state in 2024 according to U-Haul's annual Growth Index, marking its fifth consecutive year in the top 10.

The state maintained a positive inbound flow, with 50.6% of one-way U-Haul traffic coming into Tennessee versus 49.4% departures, though both arrivals and departures decreased by 1% compared to the previous year.

Tennessee's pro-business environment and low tax burden continue to attract newcomers, with cities like Nashville, Knoxville, and Murfreesboro among the state's leading growth areas, according to U-Haul.

The U-Haul Growth Index ranked South Carolina as the top growth state for 2024, followed by Texas, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.

The Flyover

As we age, our bodies accumulate "senescent" or "zombie" cells—old, worn-out cells that no longer serve a useful function but still consume space and nutrients from healthy cells. These cells contribute to aging symptoms, such as aches, slower workout recovery, and reduced mental and physical energy.

Much like pruning dead leaves from a plant, Qualia Senolytic helps remove these cells, allowing the body's healthier cells to thrive. This clinically tested formula is designed to rejuvenate cellular health and revitalize aging tissues, offering a potential breakthrough in supporting longevity and overall well-being.
