These are the donuts I grew up with in Germany and absolutely nothing beats homemade. Also known as Berliner Pfannkuchen, these fluffy jam-filled yeast donuts enjoy a long history and are a cultural icon. This recipe includes all the tips and tricks you need to make absolutely PERFECT traditional Berliner!

I've harvested close to 70 pounds of green and yellow wax beans this season from our garden! I've been freezing a lot, giving away a lot, and making what feels like every bean dish under the sun. This Four Bean Salad is one of them and it happens to be one my favorite salads. Made with fresh beans (you can substitute canned) and a sweet and tangy vinaigrette, it's a great make-ahead dish (the flavor gets better) and makes a refreshing side dish for any dinner, backyard barbecue, picnic, or potluck!

Homemade seasonings are ALWAYS the way to go. Not only are they free from junk ingredients like preservatives and anti-caking agents, the flavors are bigger, bolder, and more vibrant. This homemade Seasoned Salt is perfect for enhancing the flavor of just about anything, whether it's French fries, baked potatoes, chicken, fish, or vegetables. Keep it at your dinner table as a favorite all-purpose spice blend!

These come from my home of Southern Germany and are the way my Mutti and Oma made them. Dampfnudeln are a dessert but they're so filling that they're normally served as a main meal.

Enjoy them on your hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, nachos, pizzas, in your pasta salads, and more! They take less than 10 minutes to make and the jalapenos are ready to enjoy within a couple of days! (And you can also add some to that Pepperoni Pizza Pasta Salad above!)
