This year's theme is: 'It's time for action'. Deaths from viral hepatitis-related causes are increasing, with around one hepatitis death every 30 seconds. Globally, many do not know their status. Nearly 220 million with hepatitis B are undiagnosed, while nearly 36 million people with hepatitis C are undiagnosed. Yet hepatitis infections and deaths are preventable, through vaccination for babies, testing, cures for hepatitis C and treatment for hepatitis B.
