My Special Trick to 30-minute Meals.

Hey there reader,

Just like you, my weeknights are busy. We have something going on most nights, so I need easy, quick dinners.

Even if I had the time, I don't feel like cooking an entire meal from scratch. No, thank you! Seriously, who wants to spend 2 hours on a Wednesday cooking dinner - not me.

My solution is to have quick 30-minute meals in my repertoire. But, I have a little trick to turn most of my meals into 30-minute weeknight meals.

It's nothing ground-breaking, but I find it helpful during the week.

Cook one or more of the recipe components ahead of time, so on the night it's on the menu, you bring the rest of the recipe together - which only takes about 30 minutes, often less.

Here is an example.

My cheeseburger wraps take about 25 minutes to cook from start to finish. But if you prepare the ground beef filling on Sunday, then all you need to do is warm it up on the day you eat it, getting it on the table in about 10 minutes. Not to mention no pans to wash! Yay!

Another thing I do to get meals on the table fast during the week is I make a batch of shredded chicken, beef, or taco meat on the weekends.

Cooking meat takes the longest with most recipes, so if you can get that done, you'll shave off a good chunk of time during the week. To make it even easier, I use my slow cooker to do other things while the meat cooks for the week.

These are my favorite shredded meat recipes to use in wraps, tacos, nachos, on top of salads, or mixed in rice or pasta with some vegetables.

Here are a bunch of easy recipes you can make with shredded chicken.

Another recipe component I always make ahead of time is brown rice, and I make a big batch on the weekend to prepare quick recipes during the week.

Having one or more meal components ready ahead of time helps bring a healthy recipe together in 30-minutes or less during the busy workweek.

I hope you found this tip helpful!

Have a great weekend
