Here's today's Tip/Kitchen Hack:
Today I'm going to reveal an incredible secret weapon that you probably already have in your pantry: baking soda. This multitasking ingredient is not just for cooking; it can also work wonders when cleaning various kitchen surfaces. And it's far more affordable than other cleaning solutions! So let's explore five places in your kitchen that could benefit from the power of baking soda!
Pots and Pans: Say goodbye to stubborn burnt-on food stains by creating a baking soda paste. Coat the affected area with baking soda, add a little water, and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Then, give it a good scrub with a sponge or cloth, rinse thoroughly, and add a few drops of dish soap for extra cleaning power.
Smelly Trash Can: Tired of unpleasant odours wafting from your trash can? Sprinkle equal parts baking soda and water at the bottom, then scrub the inside with a sturdy brush. Rinse with clean water and voila! Your trash can be fresh and odour-free.
Garbage Disposal: Keep your kitchen sink's drain and garbage disposal smelling fresh by using baking soda and white vinegar. Pour a few tablespoons of baking soda down the disposal with the sink running, followed by a couple of glugs of vinegar. To tackle stuck-on food, add some ice cubes and let the disposal do its magic.
Tile Grout: Is the grout between your kitchen tiles looking a little worse for wear? Mix two parts baking soda with one part hydrogen peroxide, apply it to the grout, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Scrub away the stains with an old toothbrush and wipe clean with a wet cloth.
Microwave: Microwaves can accumulate spills and odours quickly, but baking soda and vinegar can come to the rescue. Start by microwaving a bowl of distilled white vinegar and water to loosen up the gunk. Then, use a clean, wet sponge with a few teaspoons of baking soda to tackle stubborn spots. Finish by wiping everything down with a damp rag.
Hope this helps!! Is there anything else you need help with? Reply and tell me and I'll make sure to include it in my next few emails.
Happy Cooking (and cleaning)
