UK REACH eBulletin: HSE to publish restriction dossiers on lead in ammunition and substances in tattoo inks and PMU

HSE to publish restriction dossiers on lead in ammunition and substances in tattoo inks and permanent make-up (PMU) in May On 29 April 2021, HSE received a request from the Defra Secretary of State, with agreement from the Scottish and Welsh Governments, to prepare restriction dossiers on the use of lead in ammunition and substances in tattoo inks and PMU.   In accordance with the UK REACH legislation, HSE should publish both dossiers at the end of April 2022 and begin a 6-month public consultation on each dossier.   However, in line with government policy on the pre-election period for the 5 May 2022 local elections, HSE will now defer publication and the opening of the 6-month public consultations to 6 May 2022 when the local elections have closed.
