This is the first indoor garden that has ever worked for me |
It is a frustrating time of year where I live in the Northeast. Once a week it feels like it's time to get everything into the garden, but as soon as I decide to go out and load up on seedlings the temperature drops 25 degrees. There are currently some very sad broccoli plants on my porch struggling to make it through one more day of work. But this winter I got a headstart on my planting with the first indoor garden I've ever found functional. The Rise Garden currently in my basement is already in its third round of greens, and, unlike all the countertop models I've tried that barely produce enough cilantro for a single taco night, the Rise produced lettuce, kale, and chard that I could use over a couple weeks, not to mention the bounties of herbs. I'm even using it to cheat for my outdoor garden a little right now, sprouting peas, tomatoes and peppers under the grow light, staying nice and warm until it's safe to move them outside.
