No matter how uber-busy your family is Monday–Friday, weekend mornings are when there's a welcome break in the action. Your family gets to chill your way, whether that means whipping up an extra-carbolicious breakfast or setting up a play zone so wildly fun you buy yourself a few extra minutes of sleep.

cubby finds: awesome bookends ask maxwell I'm in the market for a new rug for the kitchen, but I need something that's durable and will stand up to lots of kid-spills and foot traffic. Do you have any rug-shopping tips? — Alice Dear Alice,
I've got the perfect solution for you and you couldn't have done this so well when I started Apartment Therapy back in 2004. Since then the design and manufacture of indoor/outdoor rugs has absolutely taken off and I find they are the best solutions for high traffic areas like the kitchen — especially with food mess added in. Maxwell Ryan is a father and was an elementary school teacher in NYC before founding Apartment Therapy. He'd love to answer your question: askmaxwell@cubbyathome.com
