| 28 to 29 March 2022 HSE Science and Research Centre, Buxton £1,195 per person Layers Of Protection Analysis (LOPA) is a risk and hazard assessment method, which can be used to analyse and assess hazard safeguards at process plants. This course draws on the guidance, assessment and pitfalls identified during HSE LOPA studies from the petrochemical industry. The course is aimed at engineers, managers and safety professionals who have a basic knowledge of risk assessment and who would like to gain an understanding of the LOPA method. Dr Colin Chambers is a risk assessment and LOPA specialist with over 23 years' experience at HSE and was part of the Process Safety Leadership Group that developed the LOPA guidance. Colin currently covers the chemical sector, assessing risk assessments submitted by duty holders and attending sites to improve the way they implement their own risk assessment processes.
