  The best kitchen gear of 2021  In 2021 the Epicurious team continued its endeavor to find the best of the best appliances and top-performing gear for home cooks. In addition to revisiting some product tests from previous years to see whether the winners held up against new-to-the market models, we tested a variety of new tools as well, including air fryers, rice cookers, and mandolines. Since we are home cooks ourselves, the testing process often leaves us in interesting predicaments—senior commerce editor Emily Johnson still has around 10 immersion circulators haunting her apartment.
