Weekly Organize Yourself Skinny Newsletter (July 25th)

Hey there reader

How is it the end of July already? This month has been so crazy for me. I'm trying hard to keep a work-life balance, but I'm not going to lie; it's been tough.

Some days, I accomplish my work to-do list, and then other days, I feel like my wheels are just spinning with the hundreds of other things begging for my attention.

As I said in my last email, I'm working on new Organize Yourself Skinny meal plans to offer readers.

Another thing I'm doing this summer is working with a consultant; he will be advising me on all the updates I need to make with my blog. Organize Yourself Skinny has been around for ten years; as you can imagine, this is a beast of a project.

Anyway, work is keeping me so busy. If you're in the same boat managing summer life with a busy work schedule, let me share a few tips that help me stay on track as much as possible.

  1. The biggest tip is waking up EARLY. I know not everyone can do this, but I strongly recommend it because it helps me add 3-4 hours into my workday. I get up at 4:30 am every morning. I drink coffee and relax until 5:00 am, and then I work until 7:30 am. At around 8:00 am, I get my workout in, and after I get ready, I jump back into work until around 3:00 or 4:00 pm. Of course, this can all change depending on my schedule, but getting that extra time during the early morning hours helps me feel somewhat accomplished every day.
  2. I review my calendar and to-do list the night before. The goal is to jump right into the day knowing exactly what I need to do.
  3. Organize my work schedule and tasks using Trello. I think this can also be super helpful with all kinds of general household and life tasks.

As I said, I'm not perfect, but having these routines in place has been helpful.
