COVID secure workplace measures in England should remain in place until at least 19 July

With the delay in easing of restrictions, businesses still need to have COVID-secure measures in place to protect workers, visitors and customers.

There are different dates and requirements for easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Scotland and Wales.

The recommendation to work from home where possible remains. If not, employers must do things to keep workers safe from coronavirus by putting measures in place in the workplace.

For example, provision of facilities for regular hand washing/sanitising; social distancing and adequate ventilation. All workers have the right to be safe at work whether full time or on a zero-hours contract.

It is also important that when workers are outside of work, they follow government advice on how to stop the spread of coronavirus. You can encourage your workers to follow government guidance when commuting and when they are away from work.

Changing some work practices may also help with this. We have information and resources on our campaign website for employers and workers on how to Work Right to tackle coronavirus, including a leaflet you can share with your workers.
