Happy Monday Friends!
Well, it's one of my favorite times of the year-- Blueberry Season!!!
Now if you don't know by now, I'm a full-bred Mainer and I'm here to tell you blueberries are no joke around these parts.
We have blueberry barrens for days with all the varieties you could want, and a boatload of recipes to go with them.
I'm talking blueberry pies, muffins, whoopie pies, even bbq sauce---yup I said bbq sauce!
Today I'm keeping it simple and giving you an easy recipe for Buttermilk Blueberry Muffins.
You guys loved my Mixed Berry Muffins so much, I figured why not prep you for your own blueberry harvest!
The only difference with these muffins is the MUFFIN TOPS. Which if we're being honest, is the best part right?
Well, these tops are big, crisp around the edges, and topped with the most AMAZING crunchy Maine maple sugar.
TO DIE FOR. They taste like a stack of fresh blueberry pancakes.
Now the rest of the muffin is equally divine. There's a hint of fresh lemon, a little tang from the buttermilk, tons of blueberries, and a fluffy and moist crumb.
