Posted: 21 Jul 2021 02:22 AM PDT Have you ever smelled lemon verbena? It’s heavenly. I crushed a few leaves while I was making Lemon Verbena Tea, had Cooper take a whiff and asked him if he could smell green skittles too. “Mom! Green skittles are GREEN APPLE, not LIME! Turns out there haven’t been lime Skittles since 2013 (WHAT??!). They might be coming back for a special edition. I’m not sure. Life is weird. My friend Emma made me some Lemon Verbena Tea when we had a distanced hang out. I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT! It prompted me to get my own plant when I went to visit my brother in LA. She’s thriving! I have her labeled and everything! She’s providing! If you’re also trying to drink more water, this Lemon Verbena Tea might be the answer you’re looking for! I like drinking it ice cold. It’s a lemon/lime/floral lovefest. You should totally try some!
All you need is 50-60 lemon verbena leaves and boiling hot water. Strip those leaves off! Put it in a pitcher and STEEP! After about 15 minutes, the water is tinted a yellow-green. It’s pure MAGIC. See?! Strain the leaves from the tea with a colander. I wish you could smell this. It’s like a lemon cupcake. Drink it hot or cold. I prefer cold! Serve with a few leaves. It’s sweet on its own. No sugar needed! Don’t forget to… STAY HYDRATED!
