Are there really 6m EU citizens living in the UK?

Media reports have suggested there are many more EU nationals in the UK than previously thought. This is due to the numbers applying for the EU Settlement Scheme compared to the ONS's estimates of EU nationals in the UK. 

Jay Lindop explains why EUSS data should not be used as an indicator for how many EU nationals are living here.
