How to make fruit kvass 🌿

Hi There,

Can I share something with you?

I believe that we can learn lessons from the past - and, more specifically, the way we used to cook. You know, before high-fructose corn syrup and margarine and the industrialization of food.

There's a good lesson there - about cooking close to nature, about reclaiming whole foods, and about simplicity, too.

And one of my favorite things is to discover old recipes, and rework them for a modern kitchen - without losing their spirit.

This is one of those recipes. It's a red berry kvass converted from an old Russian recipe, and I think you'll love it. It's easy to make, deeply nourishing, and delicious.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Fruit kvass is easy to make. You pop your berries into a jar, and cover them with water and a little salt and honey, and in a few days it's ready.
  • Fermented drinks are rich in beneficial bacteria. These are bacteria that help support gut health and immune system function.
  • Berries contain loads of antioxidants that combat inflammation and support cellular health.
  • It tastes delicious. It's slightly fizzy with gorgeous, vivid red color and a delicate berry flavor. Super refreshing.

I posted the recipe (+ tips!) for your here → Berry Kvass
