Hi there!
I hope that you all had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving with your loved ones and enjoyed some delicious meals! ๐ฝ
I can't believe that Christmas and New Year's are already both quickly approaching. This has certainly been an eventful year for all of us and I hope that you all continue to remain safe and healthy going into the new year!
Whether you're cooking a large meal for many, or something smaller, I've included some great roundups with holiday recipes and tips to help you prepare the perfect dinner! I also have homemade dumplings that you can make with the family - these freeze very well so you can make a large batch and store them for later!
Koreans Traditional New Year (Seollal) follows the lunar calendar and will be on February 12th, 2021, but many (including my family) also celebrate January 1st as New Year's. Koreans will take time to visit relatives and bow to elders (saebae ์ธ๋ฐฐ) to wish them good fortune and also be blessed by them.
Elders will often say that 'You become a year older only if you had a bowl of Tteokguk (Rice Cake Soup).' Hmm, does that mean then if you don't eat Tteokguk, you don't age?? HAHA.. I only wish…Anyway, I have three different Tteokguk (Rice Cake Soup) recipes and more below so please read on!
Happy holidays ๐everyone and stay healthy!
