This is not a dream...No Yeast Naan in 30 mins!

Hey reader reader,

Garlic Naan. Soft, pillowy, slightly crispy with charred edges. Hot from the tandoor. Melted butter on top. Sigh.

Craving some? You are exactly 30 minutes and FIVE Ingredients away from homemade naan.

You don't need a tandoor or an oven. Or yeast (which is in short supply anyway).

And no, it's not too good to be true.

My Secrets to making Naan at Home

  • Baking Soda to leaven the dough
  • Yogurt for softness and to help the baking soda do its work
  • A quick cooking trick (on the stovetop) to give you big air pockets and charred bits and edges

This recipe was handed down by my grandma, who made this on a wood fired stove.

And I've retested and perfected it to work on a gas or electric stove.

The best part about this dough? Use this to make no-yeast stovetop pizzas and bhaturas (fried breads).

One dough, many possibilities.

Happy Cooking,

Richa
