​Zuppa Toscana is a creamy, hearty soup loaded with bacon, sausage, potato and kale. This one pot Zuppa Toscana soup recipe comes together quickly and is so filling and delicious – sure to be a hit with the whole family!

Thank you so very much for this recipe. It was absolutely wonderful…followed it exactly except for cutting it in half for single person (but still leftovers). I honestly think this was even better than I remember of the one in the restaurant. It was just marvelous and love one pot dishes especially. -- WANDA

The following GAIN reports were released on September 29, 2022. _______   Canada: Guidance and Resources on Canada's Front of Package Nutrition Labels In June 2022, Canada published final regulations on front-of-package nutrition labeling (FOPNL). The new regulatory requirements are complex, and the food industry has until January 1, 2026 to implement label changes and become compliant. Stakeholders are strongly encouraged to consult the variety of resources and information made available by Health Canada to assist with FOPNL implementation.   Egypt: Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards Country Report In June 2022, Egypt launched a trial phase of the Advanced Clearance Information system (ACI) on airfreight. The government is expected to fully apply the electronic ACI system in October 2022. This comes after the October 1, 2021, launch of the ACI in sea ports. Traders must register within the designated platforms (CargoX for exporters and ACI for importers). The Egyptian government will no longer require Egyptian embassy authentication on certificates of origin. According to the Minister of Finance, when successfully implemented, the new customs system will reduce the average clearance time from the current 28 days to one day. Egypt decided to import chicken parts including leg quarters from US and other countries. The decision is coming after the global developments that caused unprecedented rises in inflation rates. Egypt's halal requirement on dairy and dairy products is still under question.   El Salvador: Food Service - Hotel Restaurant Institutional The Salvadoran HRI sector is having a better performance in 2022 as the tourism sector is recovering. Euromonitor reports that Salvadorans spent about $2.1 billion in the Hotels/Catering category during 2021. According to recent reports by the Ministry of Tourism, El Salvador received 1.1 million foreign visitors in the first half of 2022, representing a 92 percent recovery compared to the same period in 2019. The hotel/restaurant sector has been reported by the Central Reserve Bank as the best performing economic activity for the first quarter of 2022, contributing 2.4 percent to the growth of GDP.   Weekly Export Sales This weekly report is a summary of U.S. export sales activity for barley, beef, cattle hides and skins, cattle wet blues, corn, cotton (by type), cottonseed, cottonseed cake and meal, cottonseed oil, flaxseed, grain sorghum, linseed oil, oats, pork, rice, rye, soybeans, soybean cake and meal, soybean oil, sunflower seed oil, wheat (by class), and wheat products.   Ukraine: Livestock and Products Annual Both cattle and swine numbers are expected to decrease significantly in 2022, driven by the war-related economic downturn. Pork production is expected to show a decrease, while 2022 beef production is expected to show a short-term spike. Production of both proteins is expected to drop in 2023. Ukraine will maintain rather significant pork imports in 2022 to compensate for the meat shortage. Total pork consumption is expected to decrease driven by the refugee crisis, disposable income drops, and a weakened economy. Beef consumption will experience a short-lived increase, and Ukraine will resume some live cattle and beef exports in the second half of 2022. The 2023 livestock number and slaughter are expected to remain an all-time low.   Ukraine: Poultry and Products Annual Ukraine's chicken meat production is expected to decline by over 8 percent in 2022. The industry is experiencing significant problems with inputs procurement, in-country, and export logistics, domestic consumer base decrease, and labor force shortages. It suffers from significant currency devaluation, debt servicing problems, and a lack of bank financing. Both chicken meat exports and domestic consumption are expected to decline in 2022 prior to a slight recovery in 2023. Growing poultry prices and an abundance of cheap feed will have a modest positive impact. Imports are expected to drop, driven by lower domestic demand.
