Among the many special, joyful things here about Easter, and any holiday really, is the reaching back in time. My sister and I pull out the boxes of treasures from my mother's yesteryear, and amazing things happen: memories surface, awe and love for our people is palpable, and so much of that happens by touching the things and putting them out as Mom did. The cup overflows with gratitude.
A table filled with love: Alice Abowd, Mom's mom, blew out these eggs and decorated them with colored rice and ribbons. Family treasure, and just one of the many crafts she mastered.
I hope that if you are gathering and celebrating today, that your table is filled with love as you feel the hope of Easter.
Let's get to what we're making for dinner this week! Do you have Easter boiled eggs to enjoy? I have a divine recipe for Deviled Eggs, as well as Pink Pickled Eggs to check out. We're going to enjoy my simple 7 Spice Chicken which bakes up loaded with flavor. Alongside, some spicy roasted potatoes with herbs (Lebanese Batata Hara).
On social media, it's been fun to see some of my posts go viral by the millions! Join my feed on Instagram and Facebook to see all of the excitement (ma'amoul and clarified butter in particular!)
Blessed Easter season,
Pickled Eggs.
Peel your boiled eggs and give them the quick-pickle treatment here. Beautiful and delicous.
Use your boiled eggs or pink pickled eggs to make a lush plate of deviled eggs. My filling gets its creaminess from yogurt, and that's our mint on top. So nice!
