Protein Real Talk: About 3 years ago I started really paying attention to protein and I eat at least 100 grams a day but ideal is 120-130g. Prior to that, I was maybe getting 50 grams. Since I've been paying attention to protein, I just feel better, my body fat percentage is the lowest it's been in 20 years, my body functions better, my hair and nails are stronger, my skin glows from the inside out, I'm protecting my long term health, and overall it's been such a positive change.

100g a day is only possible when you consume 30-35 grams a protein at every meal by actively choosing it - it doesn't choose itself and for many people they default to empty carbs so you need to plan and then follow through.

I get my protein from lean sources (chicken, turkey, salmon, eggs, egg whites, occasional beef) and I don't use protein powders regularly. Although this is the vanilla protein powder I use and this is the chocolate if I do.
