I will never forget the first time I baked a gorgeous coconut cake, following the recipe to the letter, only to discover as nobody ate it that this thing was so dry, so flavorless, so...not. Time, effort, anticipation all dashed! And on my Mom's birthday too.
This is one reason I dedicated myself to developing cake recipes that DELIVER! So you and I can bake and trust in the end results. It appears from my photo that this cake is entirely about the buttercream frosting! And it is all that, but the cake is incredibly good plus very simple to make.
