Saturday's Sprinkles #1

Image

November 22, 2025
Hello ooseims,

I'm baaaaack!!
Or at least I plan on showing up in your mailbox every Saturday.
Welcome to our first installment of Saturday's Sprinkles where you'll get a sprinkling of food and what I've found throughout the week.

2025 has been a year with some major professional and personal changes.
The most difficult being the divorce I went through the beginning of September. Needless to say, it's been one of the most difficult things I've ever been through. The grief I experienced after leaving a 35 year marriage was overwhelming at times, but I've learned more things about myself in the past 11 months than I think I ever have. The support I've received from my children, extended family, friends, and yes, my therapist has been tremendous.
I've got big plans for myself and am beyond grateful and happier than ever that you're sharing this little corner of the internet with me. I received so many messages of love and support after sharing this reel on Instagram.
I'm doing much better though I do have my days, and I know that these next few months may be challenging. So I'm going to give myself grace and just take it one day, even one moment at a time, if I have to.

If you've experienced it, I send you so much love.

Looking ahead

Our annual 12 Days of Cookies starts NEXT FRIDAY, November 28!!
Look for a brand new cookie/treat recipe every day for 12 days. I'm excited because there are some fun, festive, and tasty things you'll enjoy baking for your cookie exchanges, dessert table, and for gifts.

This Week's Recipes -

From Easy Recipes From Home -

Holiday entertaining isn't complete unless there's a cheese ball being served as an appetizer, am I right? This one has cream cheese, cheddar cheese, pecans, dried cranberries and rosemary. There's so much flavor in just a little bite!

From 365 Days of Baking and More -

I fell in love with these Cranberry Pie Bars the moment I bit into them! Ok, actually as I was making them, really. I just knew that cranberry and orange flavor was going to knock these out of the park, and it did. I hope you give them a try.

One of my most favorite things on the table at Thanksgiving is Cranberry Sauce! I've always loved the jellied sauce from the can because it's what I grew up with, but actually fell in love with making my own because I didn't realize how easy it would be.

Rum. It's delicious to enjoy in a cocktail, but it's also super yummy in baked goods like this Rum Soaked Cake. It's super easy to make, too, because you use...shhhhh...a boxed cake mix. You can always use my yellow cake recipe if you want to make it from scratch, but save yourself time this holiday season. No one has to know. 😉

Weekly Tip

When preparing for Thanksgiving or any holiday entertaining, take out all the serving dishes you plan to use and place a piece of paper with the recipe you'll be putting in each. This way there's no confusion about which side should go where and you can put family and friends to work filling the dishes!
Also, make sure you have plenty of serving utensils on hand nothing like using a small soup spoon when grabbing a good helping of mashed potatoes for your plate.

Favorite Finds

I'm currently reading the autobiography, On Fire: The 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life, by John O'Leary. John nearly died in a house fire when he was nine years old, but miraculously survived through his own will, and some really incredible people. The lessons he learns throughout his life looking back on that day, his recovery and as he learns to navigate daily life with his disabilities are nothing short of inspiring.

Looking to add some festive decoration to your table on Thursday? I found this post about 21 Stunning DIY Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas while looking for ideas for my table. I especially like the Thankful Napkin Rings and the Leaf Place Cards.

I know you've probably got your Thanksgiving Day menu all planned, but if you're looking for some last minute recipes, I've got you covered!
