Hi reader
So, a few weeks ago I sent you my free freezer prep cheat sheets. I covered a lot of tips and information that you'll find helpful. If you haven't downloaded them yet, here's the link again.
Anyway, today, I want to share some key tips to remember when it comes to freezer prep. These are the things that you really shouldn't forget:
πLabel and date your meals: This is super important! Even if you think you'll remember what's in each container, trust me, you won't. So, make sure to label everything clearly, including the date you froze it. This will save you from ending up with a freezer full of mystery meals.
πStart small with recipes you know: It can be tempting to dive right in with complicated recipes, but it's better to start with family favorites you're already comfortable making. For example, you can use taco meat, chili, or even just some pre-cooked rice for different recipes.
πUse quality storage containers: The key here is to make sure that your containers are labeled as freezer-safe. This will help keep air out and prevent freezer burn, which can ruin your meals.
πKeep an inventory: It's always a good idea to keep track of what you have in your freezer. You don't want to rely on memory for this, so keep a list of what's in there. You can keep it simple with pen and paper or use a website like Plan to Eat to manage your freezer meals.
πJust get started: The most important thing is to start! It's easy to put things off, but freezer prep can be a game-changer for busy moms like us. So, set aside some time this week and get a few meals in the freezer to prepare for your busiest days.
I hope these tips help you on your freezer prep journey!
