 | Wednesday, March 26, 2025 | | Good morning! On this day in 1948, Hector P. Garcia and 700 other Mexican American veterans met in Corpus Christi to organize the American G.I. Forum. The Latino civil rights group was instrumental in securing the Supreme Court's landmark Hernandez v. Texas decision in 1954, and it became a national organization in 1958. The Houston Rodeo ended Sunday, but you wouldn't know it if you were driving on I-45 in Harris County on Monday when half a dozen cattle escaped from their trailer. Check out the story below! Today we're sponsored by New Sapience, offering an investment opportunity in AI technology, be sure to get in on this while you still can. Equipped with surface-to-air missiles, anti-submarine rockets, and other weapons, the 500-foot destroyer will assist the U.S. Coast Guard in combating maritime smuggling, illegal immigration, and drug trafficking. "It is a bit unique to deploy a capability of this level for this mission set, but I think it goes to the commitment that Navy has to the President and Secretary of Defense to support the southern border operations," said Navy Adm. Daryl Caudle, the head of U.S. Fleet Forces. The Gravely was last deployed to the Middle East, where it helped shoot down missiles and drones launched by the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen against commercial ships in the Red Sea. NORTHCOM is also deploying a second destroyer, the USS Spruance, to the Pacific Coast in a similar mission. | $800 Million Wellness Resort Planned for Dallas Romanian wellness company Therme Group plans to build an $800 million resort near downtown Dallas, its first in the U.S. The 24-acre development would include a hotel, multiple restaurants, thermal baths, mineral pools, saunas, and water slides. Company officials estimate the resort could attract 1.8 million visitors a year. Adult day passes are projected to start at around $60. The resort is expected to create over 1,000 permanent jobs and generate $1.8 billion in tax revenue over 30 years. Pending approval, the facility could open as soon as 2030. | Cattle Take Over Houston Highway Six steers escaped from a trailer on I-45 in Houston on Monday, causing "a traffic mess" for several hours. The animals got loose when the latch on a trailer carrying 31 roping steers was jarred open. Police officers and onlookers tried to corral the steers as they trotted along the highway, and several local TV stations captured the mayhem on video. Initial reports indicated a vehicle had hit one of the steers, but authorities said there were no accidents related to the loose cattle. It is unclear if the driver will be charged for not properly securing the trailer. "We live in Texas, so, you know, it's nothing new," said witness Elise Moore, who spotted two of the steers on her workplace property. "They were just kind of running around in the parking lot, ate some grass ... we're just kind of enjoying the show." | | Flying together with our sponsor | | | ➤ Waco: Republican State Rep.
