I was kindly gifted some samples from this Yorkshire-based independent business, off the back of a new launch of a Brazilian Coffee; Pinhal. The launch event took place at Thirsk Garden Centre and I was unable to attend, however I can say this coffee packs a delightful array of flavours. Upfront there is a big orange hit, then a stone-fruit sweetness before a tangy berry finish.
The microlot is from Fazenda Pinhal, which was awarded Brazil's most sustainable coffee farm in 2019. The farm is 100% run off solar energy and is two-thirds nature reserve, forest and pasture land, whilst also being a sanctuary to rehabilitate birds and other animals through the Wings Project. £2 of the RRP from each box of Pinhal sold is donated to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to support their great work. So do your bit for the planet whilst you sip this tasty brew!
They actually have another coffee launching today (5th April 2024). The new Colombian Dulce Misterio Geisha coffee is floral, complex and a little zingy with hints of jasmine tea, lime and bubble-gum (strawberry, banana and cherry flavours combined), but there is much more. Dulce Misterio (Sweet Mystery) Farm is located in Neira, Caldas, part of Colombia's coffee axis, and the owner Mauricio Duque says the mountain has very unique soil characteristics that result in a sweeter than usual coffee crop. To let the sweetness shine, Mauricio processes his coffee with exacting fermentation standards by tightly controlling PH, temperature and time.
As this is a special release, Rounton will be roasting and processing orders each Friday, starting from 5th April, to ensure freshness.
I have certainly enjoyed a powerful wake-up recently with these tasty brews, and in particular enjoy the flavours with cocoa of course. Strong, unique tastes as well as supporting the planet, now THAT has my vote! Don't just take my word for it, give this brand a look-up and order some delightful coffee-based treats yourself.

For the last 3 months I signed up to a monthly delivery (approx. £12.50 for a 250g bag or £32 for 1kg) of different, new and freshly roasted coffee beans, and I have loved it! My current favourite flavour has to have been the Ibimbo (Uganda) flavour. You really can taste the pineapple and raspberry in the coffee, and for a sweet-toothed person like me, it is lovely and sweet. Find out all about this coffee flavour and more of their collection on Rounton's website here.
Not only can you enjoy this delicious coffee in the space of your own home, Rounton's also supply various coffee machines and are open to work with wholesalers and corporate businesses to provide gifts/coffee for offices.
