40 Snow Plows, Miss Tennessee Third, and Gatlinburg Snow Activities

This winter, the city has more snow plows available than at any point last year, with 40 plows ready for deployment.

Article Icon 140 Snow Plows Ready for Nashville Winter

The City of Nashville has announced that inspectors are actively monitoring and treating roads as needed, prioritizing bridges and overpasses, which tend to freeze first.

This winter, the city has more snow plows available than at any point last year, with 40 plows ready for deployment. Despite this increase, officials have requested additional equipment to further bolster resources.

Nashville has expanded snow plow routes and invested in innovative technology, including a snow plow driving simulator, to improve efficiency and expedite road clearing during winter weather.

The National Weather Service warns of light ice accumulations, particularly on Interstate 40 and across the Cumberland Plateau. Residents are urged to exercise caution in affected areas.

Davin Rolle, 27, has been arrested in connection with the Saturday night shooting outside a Walmart in Lebanon.

The Lebanon Police Department reported executing a search warrant at an apartment on Rome Pike after receiving a tip.

Officers found Rolle inside the apartment, and he has since been charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

The incident prompted the evacuation of the Walmart late Saturday night following reports of possible gunfire. Police cleared the store shortly after 11 p.m., while residents within a one-mile radius were instructed to shelter in place during the response.

The event began on New Year’s Day and featured preliminary rounds, including talent performances, leading up to the finals on Sunday, Jan. 5.

A total of 52 contestants participated, including representatives from Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

Miss Tennessee stood out during the competition, earning a talent award in the “Miss America’s Got Talent” segment on Thursday for her performance of "Climb Every Mountain" from The Sound of Music. Watch a video here

Ultimately, the title of Miss America 2025 was awarded to Miss Alabama, Abbie Stockard.
