Hi reader,
My husband and I walked through TONS of houses when we were looking to move, and as a foodie, obviously, I looked in the pantry.
Not to snoop, but so I knew what I would be working with if we bought that house. (Ok, busted. 95% to see what I'm working with, 5% to snoop)
I was so surprised that the vast majority of the pantries I looked into were a complete mess! I immediately started wondering...
- How could anyone find anything?
- How long would it take to cook, spending so much time digging through the shelves?!
- How often they bought something, only to realize they already had that same item at home… or MANY of that same item!
That's when it hit me…
One of the best ways to cook dinner fast - and to save money at the same time - is to start with an organized kitchen!
I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but at any time, my husband or kids can ask me where something is and I can answer them.
Having an organized kitchen means not wondering where anything is, saying, "you might check here" or "you might check there."
Every food has one spot where it's supposed to be - a place to call "home."
And when everything is in the right place, you can get SO MUCH more done in less time. You - and your kitchen - work together like a well-oiled machine! (And you're not buying more of the same foods you already have!)
I encourage you to take a couple of minutes today and pinpoint one area that drives you absolutely crazy, for whatever reason. This can be the fridge, the spice cabinet, or even the drawer with all the measuring cups.
Clean the area out, get rid of what's bad or broken, and create a system that is functional and works for you!
I promise it'll only take 5 minutes, but it'll make a huge impact on your day-to-day!
♥ Tiffany
