| Good morning sweet one! I hope this email finds you well. As you see, it's Tuesday and I'm JUST NOW getting my Friday work done! That's how it goes sometimes! How many days are you behind? Go ahead, drop me a line. I love to hear from you, just click "reply" to this email and your answer will go straight to me, no one else will see it and I promise, I'll write back as soon as possible! But let's get on to the FOOD! Did you know that there's a magic substance out there that when you mix it up with a few other ingredients, you get something that makes a marinade for chicken and pork, a dip for pizza, a sandwich topping, a veggie dip, a pasta dressing, a potato salad dressing mix.... and SO MUCH MORE! Yes, it's true and I'll show you how. Here's the RECIPE FOR THE MAGIC SUBSTANCE! Are you shocked? When I really started thinking about it, I thought, that is the perfect stuff for a new cook and also an experience kitchen chef, no joke! It does so much! If we could just teach it to wash the dishes! _____________________________ HOT COOKING TIP OF THE WEEK This week a friend of mine who is cooking for a crowd for the whole week (a high school baseball team, if I'm not mistaken) said that she could use some help with the whole thing. I just cooked for a crowd too. I have a BIG TIP... I want to tell you my number one mistake that I made with the menu for my crowd! It's probably the mistake of many newer cooks and some well seasoned cooks too. When I was making the menu for Friday night, I didn't think about the timing of when things would need to be done and what EXACTLY I had to cook with. I was trying to Fry chicken, roast asparagus, warm the dinner rolls and make a gravy all at the same time. I didn't consider that I would need the oven for THREE THINGS (storing the already fried chicken - if you set the oven on it's lowest setting and put your fried chicken on a paper towel lined tray and DON't CROWD IT, then it will stay crispy and warm until time to eat), roasting the asparagus and warming the rolls. Plus I didn't consider that gravy takes time and concentration as does frying chicken as does WATCHING THE ROLLS SO THEY DON'T BURN. I should have opted for a different side dish (like crockpot green beans) that is cooked in a whole different apparatus and that I don't have to worry about at the last moment. Then I could have warmed the rolls in the already warm oven in the last 5 minutes as I was putting everything else out on the buffet line. _______________________________ THREE LITTLE THINGS Trying to be more thankful for the little here so that I can remind myself to be thankful for the big things too and to remind you to be thankful too. - Grateful for the ferns at my local grocery store that were less expensive than the local nursery.
- Along that same line, thankful for the idea that the front porch ferns can be silk and no one will know because no one comes in the front door ( except now I've told the whole world and you will know) ANYWAY, they are less expensive on Amazon than even my grocery store ferns and I won't have to water them.
- Grateful for my honest handyman who helps me with all kinds of things. So thankful.
_________________________________ A FINAL WORD How do you like to use a cooking website? Do you go looking for something new to cook? Are you looking for something in a whole class of recipes like "Southern Cooking" recipes? Maybe you are looking for something that is JUST for beginner cooks? Maybe a specific recipe like your favorite Easy Chocolate Pie? Maybe you want ideas for dinner to to just see "what's new"? Please share with me how you use cooking websites so that I can make the changes I need to make? I would love to hear from you. You can just click reply to this email and I'll get your reply. I'll respond as soon as possible too! I love to hear from you! Any which way, I know you don't want to see ads all over the place, so I'm removing them from the homepage as soon as my tech person can get to me. Love you! Have a great week! Wendi |
