📆 Black History and the Census Bureau This week, we are shining a spotlight on Black History Month, recent observances, and more. We're sending you this quick note to keep you up to date as you finish up your week.  Honoring a Century of Excellence in Data Collection and Use For more than 100 years, African American leaders in the Department of Commerce have been making significant, innovative contributions to our collection of data to help us better understand our country and our world. In honor of Black History Month, the Census Bureau, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) are recognizing three Black leaders who have made a lasting impact in the field of data collection and use. W.E.B. Du Bois and the Census Bureau Sociologist and civil rights activist W.E.B. Du Bois was born on February 23 in 1868. Did you know that W.E.B.
