Live Online Workshop: Ecotoxicology Higher Tier Risk Assessment

1, 2 & 3 March 2022

HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) will be holding a higher tier risk assessment workshop that builds on the previously delivered first-tier workshops.

 

The workshop will take place over three consecutive half-days, and it will provide an introduction and overview of ecotoxicological higher tier risk assessment in the UK, along with in-depth discussion and practical exercises on refinement options. 

 

We will also cover risk mitigation and the UK approach to risk assessment for combined active-substance formulations.

 

Who should attend?

Those who already carry out ecotoxicological risk assessments (in relation to Reg. (EU) 1107/2009) and who would like more information on higher tier risk assessments and refinement options.

 

The course will cover:

The sessions will take place online and be a mixture of presentations and written exercise workshops.

 

The following topics will be covered:

  • Higher tier risk assessment for the following
    • Birds and mammals
    • Non-target arthropods
    • Bees
    • Aquatic organisms
    • Soil organisms and non-target terrestrial plants

  • Combined risk assessment

Please note: this workshop will not cover first tier risk assessment, nor give technical guidance on new ecotoxicological guidance which has yet to be noted.
