America Recycles Day 2021

On America Recycles Day, we recognize the importance and impact of recycling, which has contributed to American prosperity and the protection of our environment. America Recycles Day was created in 1997.

  • An EPA study found that recycling and reuse activities in the United States accounted for 681,000 jobs and $37.8 billion in wages.
  • Recycling is a major business nationwide, as waste management and remediation services earn over $100 billion annually. Additionally, the country's 28,000 environmental engineers help minimize waste and pollution.
