Based in Kelham, this Italian Bar & Restaurant has a little bit of a Posh Café vibe about it. Welcoming and warm, this restaurant serves great-tasting food and is a lovely venue to meet friends or come for a date night.

I finally had the chance to visit Isabella's recently, this time with a few fellow Sheffield foodies that I had met through our Sheffield Foodie Socials (Instagram group bringing like-minded food lovers together locally). This wasn't an organised event, just a friendly meal with a couple of lovely ladies who also had been meaning to visit Isabella's for a while. We met at the Fat Cat pub first for a quick drink, always a good meeting place in Kelham 🙂

Before we went, a number of people had recommended the Arancini starter to us, so we decided to share this between the 3 of us with some cheesy garlic bread too. The arancini was really good, 3 large pieces each with a different filling; Pesto, Bolognese Ragu and Dolcelatte Blue Cheese. I am not sure I can pick a favourite, I enjoyed trying them all! The cheesy garlic bread was VERY garlicky and very cheesy, a little greasy, but was a tasty, comforting starter (glad I wasn't on a first date with this one haha!)

The pasta dishes coming out of the kitchen looked that good they convinced the other 2 ladies who were going to have a pizza initially, to order a pasta dish. I already knew I wanted pasta as I usually do 99% of the time when dining out at an Italian. It was a tough choice between the Penne Pesto Pollo or Ravioli Burro I Salvia (Ravioli filled with ricotta & spinach, cooked in sage & butter with pine nuts). I went for the Penne Pesto Pollo in the end - a large and tasty dish of chicken breast with spinach, olives & cherry tomatoes with cream & basil pesto. I enjoyed this, although there was a lot and when I got home I felt I had eaten too much but I really didn't want it to go to waste!

The venue here was cosy and staff seemed friendly and attentive so no complaints here. The prices for dishes are fairly standard for this type or restaurant I would say, with starters around the £10 mark, pasta dishes and pizzas around £14 and mains with a side around £20.
