Census Bureau's Final Post-Enumeration Survey Field Operation Set to Begin NOV. 16, 2021 — The U.S. Census Bureau will follow up with households beginning November 29 and will continue through March 2022 as part of the final in-person collection operation for the Post-Enumeration Survey (PES). This survey helps measure the accuracy of the 2020 Census by independently surveying a sample of the population. The PES Final Housing Unit Followup Operation will include housing units in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. This part of the operation is conducted to measure and evaluate coverage on housing units in the census. This PES operation was originally scheduled to end in June 2021 but, like other 2020 operations, was extended as a result of circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first results from the PES are planned for release in the first quarter of 2022, with additional results to be released in the summer of 2022. |
