Hey there!
I can't believe it's the last Sunday in August! Sorry, it's been a few weeks since I sent a newsletter. This has been quite the summer - busy on a whole new level.
As much as I've enjoyed having my kids home this past school year and into the summer, I'm looking forward to them returning to school full time this week. I desperately need to get back into a solid work schedule. I've done my best to keep up with everything but, I'm not going to lie; lately, I feel like I'm crawling up the high side of the mountain.
I'm looking forward to getting more of a work/life balance starting this week.
With all of that said, I did accomplish some of my goals this month.
- I got back on track with exercise. The past couple of weeks, I exercised 5 days a week. I also drank a smoothie on those days. Both of these things make such a difference in my energy levels. I also did well with drinking enough water every day.
- We purged closets and got everything for back to school. So I'm ready to send my kids off on their first day.
- I started working on my September work schedule, putting all projects/content into Trello, and time blocking my schedule. I also added all school events/activities/appointments and other obligations into my calendar. Both of these tasks take a reasonable amount of time, but it's so worth it.
I am still not ahead of schedule as much as I'd like with work. My goal is to take a couple of solid weeks off in the Fall (October or November) to recharge. To be honest, I'm burnt out, so I need some time off.
- I've stocked our freezer with breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and steel-cut oats to make breakfast easy in the morning. This weekend I'm going to put together some freezer dinner recipes. I'm thinking meal starters like shredded chicken and beef. Also, I like having slow cooker meals in the freezer.
My goal is to take this weekend to close up loose ends to start back to school feel prepared and confident!
Okay, let's get to the newsletter.
