This Is How You Treat Your Leftovers Right
I have a two-year old, and if you've had one you know: They can totally upend years of well-orchestrated eating routines. Our fridge is often heavy with leftovers because my son is currently in his "I don't like flavors" phase (a sad time in the life a food site editor) and takes a pass on dinners that don't heavily feature unadulterated cheese, fruit, or pasta. On the flip side he also needs a backpack filled to overflowing with snacks if we ever leave the house, preferably sorted in such a way that the apple slices don't touch the crackers, which don't touch the trail mix.
What does that mean? It means food storage containers have taken on an outsize role in my life. But even if you don't have the dictatorial demands of a small child directing your life, good food storage is worth striving for. You don't want the slaw you're bringing to a picnic to leak all over your bag and you need somewhere to store all that Sunday sauce. We tested a dozen different sets and found the ones best suited to making sure none of your cooking ends up going to waste.
