| | February 21, 2025 | Edition #184 | Hey, Hoophead! | We all love this time of the year. The games get tighter, and you can almost feel March knocking on the door. But then comes Senior Night, and suddenly, all that excitement comes with a little lump in the throat. This weekend, some of the biggest teams in the country will be saying their emotional goodbyes. | But before the farewell hugs take over, things got a little spicy off the court. Coach Yo wrapped up the week by jumping into a heated online exchange with the LSU coach. No, it wasn't Kim Mulkey, and this one didn't happen on the hardwood either. |
| | | | It was Coach Yo vs. LSU, again! | Only this time, it wasn't on the court, and things got a little too personal, and a lot more heated. | It all began when Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin called on fans to show up for the Rebels at home ahead of their matchup with LSU. And well… they answered the call. The attendance came in at 7,424, the second-largest home crowd of the season. | But if you ask former Rebel (and current LSU) football head coach Lane Kiffin, that packed house wasn't really there for the home team. He hopped on social media to take a shot at Ole Miss after the loss, and went as far as tagging Ole Miss HC and saying she had "begged" for it (in a now-deleted post). | That began the Coach Yo roast session. | A series of tweets followed, starting with McPhee-McCuin posting, "Have y'all ever heard of a football coach tagging a WBB coach after a game? This guy doesn't even like women's sports! Cope harder!" | The football coach responded with multiple defensive posts, even dragging Kim Mulkey into the discussion. You'll want to check out his post! | But as always, the fearless Coach Yo wasn't buying into any of it. | She didn't stop there, sharing a clip of her striking out Kiffin during Ole Miss' 2025 celebrity softball game. Oh, she even threatened to release "the files" on Kiffin if he didn't stop. | Believe it or not, it seemed to do the trick. Kiffin removed his tweet about LSU fans, clarified that he is a fan of women's sports, and even complimented her for building Ole Miss into a top program. | But after all of that, one thing became clear. While no one ever doubted that Lane Kiffin's exit from Ole Miss was messy, this exchange showed just how ugly things really were behind the scenes. | At the same time, the off-court drama ended up taking attention away from what should have been the real story: a powerful showdown between two SEC programs. The atmosphere was electric. The arena was packed. And most importantly, you saw two teams leave everything they had on the floor. | Hopefully, the conversation shifts back to what truly matters. |

| | | | Mitchell Spoils Barbie's Return |
| | The Bayou Barbie returned to the very stage she left not just as a champion, but as the tournament's Defensive Player of the Year. | Rose BC supporters got a glimpse of Angel at her best, as she posted 13 points and eight rebounds in only 10 minutes, though the defending champions ultimately fell short. | We got a thriller all game long, with Hive BC and Rose BC combining for a record 61 first-quarter points in a game that saw 19 lead changes and 16 ties. | For those unaware, Reese joined Rose BC via a rare three-team trade, which also saw Azurรก Stevens head from Rose to Hive. Well, that move proved costly, as Stevens torched her former team, scoring 20 points and eight rebounds. | But in the end, it all came down to the final moment, when Kelsey Mitchell made a stunning game-winner over Angel Reese to clinch the win. A moment fans will replay over and over, even if it's one Angel Reese would rather forget. | Mitchell dropped 27 points to lead Hive BC to their fourth win of the season, but Rose BC players and fans will head home convinced that the win was stolen from them. | Why do we say that? | Because just one play earlier, the Bayou Barbie was called for a foul on Sonia Citron after what looked like a clean steal. A play that could've led to a game-winner. | Don't take our word for it, go watch the play yourself and decide. | Elsewhere, we saw a clash at the top of the table, where Phantom BC edged past Laces 64–58 to move into first place, behind 16 points each from Aliyah Boston and Tiffany Hayes. | Best (or Worst) Play of the Night?! |
| | Last month, we watched bad weather derail schedules nationwide… but no program appears to have suffered quite as much as Ole Miss. | After their matchup with Tennessee was pushed back, the Rebels suddenly found themselves facing four ranked teams in a row, with the toughest challenge up next. | If there was any doubt about how Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin felt about the SEC schedule, this made it crystal clear. | And as if it wasn't already tough for visiting teams, it will also be Ole Miss' fourth game in eight days. The Rebels head into this matchup fresh off a tough loss to LSU, where we saw them blow a 13-point fourth-quarter lead and go 0-16 from the field. | Now they're up against a South Carolina side that's won seven straight. | Plus, should results go Dawn Staley's way and the Gamecocks take care of Ole Miss, they'll secure their fifth straight SEC title. A massive incentive going into Sunday. | Although both teams have injury concerns, with Ole Miss missing Sira Thienou and the Gamecocks unsure about Raven Johnson, you'll still want to be there Sunday at noon because this one could be a classic. | Moving on, we've got another ranked matchup on the horizon, this time between two Big Ten teams both eyeing that No. 2 spot in the conference standings. | Yes, it's a showdown between No. 6 Michigan and No. 13 Iowa. The Wolverines matchup comes with a sweet, historic memory for the Hawkeyes. While CC fans might already know, this is what we're talking about. | But this time, both teams are looking to boost their resume for Selection Sunday. Coach Jensen and her Hawkeyes are on a three-game winning run as they look to turn that momentum into a sixth straight win over Michigan. | So, set your alarms for 12 p.m. ET on Sunday. | Moreover, to wrap things up, it's also a pretty emotional day. UCLA and UConn are set to celebrate their seniors this Sunday against Wisconsin and Providence, respectively. | Second Chance? After Legal Troubles and Dismissal, Tennessee Guard Finds New Home |

| | | | Fever Reunion Meets GOAT Picks |
| | With WNBA CBA negotiations still showing no real signs of a resolution anytime soon, there's growing concern about a potential lockout. But that hasn't stopped Fever players from gearing up for the next season. | Indiana's Unrivaled contingent recently got together for a workout with Coach Stephanie White, and they were joined by the one player we've all been dying to see. You can probably guess who. | Meanwhile, during NBA All-Star Weekend, Stephen Curry was promoting his GOAT movie when he was asked an intriguing question: Who are the five greatest women's basketball players of all time? | With all the legends in the mix, there was one college player who made it onto Curry's list. And yes, it was your favorite "Princess." |
