USDA Now Accepting Applications for Agribusiness Trade Mission to Taiwan

WASHINGTON, June 3, 2025—The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is now accepting applications for its upcoming agribusiness trade mission to Taipei, Taiwan, scheduled for September 29 - October 1. U.S. exporters interested in expanding their trade opportunities in Taiwan's thriving agricultural market must apply by Tuesday, June 17.

"With strong economic growth and proven demand for high-quality U.S. food in Taiwan, now is an ideal time for U.S. agribusinesses to expand their presence," said Foreign Agricultural Service Administrator Daniel Whitley. "This trade mission will connect U.S. exporters with key buyers and help them forge partnerships to tap into this dynamic market."

Taiwan is the eighth-largest market for U.S. agricultural exports, with trade increasing 16% from 2019 to 2024. The United States remains Taiwan's top supplier, accounting for 25% of its agricultural import market. Consumer-oriented products make up more than half of all U.S. agricultural exports to Taiwan, exceeding $2 billion, with total agricultural exports reaching $3.8 billion.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture anticipates strong opportunities in Taiwan for the following product groups:

  • Beef and pork products
  • Fresh fruit
  • Dairy
  • Tree nuts
  • Seafood
  • Soybeans
  • Corn
  • Wheat
  • Pet food

During the trade mission, U.S. agribusiness representatives will connect directly with buyers in Taiwan through business-to-business meetings, market briefings, site visits, and networking events led by FAS staff and regional trade experts.

For more information or to apply, see the Taiwan Agribusiness Trade Mission webpage. The application deadline is Tuesday, June 17.

The Taiwan trade mission is part of USDA's broader 2025 export promotion strategy. Recent trade missions to Thailand, Guatemala, and Hong Kong have delivered significant results for U.S. exporters. USDA will soon announce application details for planned missions to Mexico and Côte d'Ivoire, further strengthening global trade opportunities.
