I have a secret weapon for summer cookouts and BBQs that's always a hit, especially with kids and teens: Seriously, slicing a watermelon into sticks vs cubes, with a little piece of rind on top, is a fantastic way to serve watermelon to a crowd. That extra bit of novelty always seems to thrill people. I like to serve a big bowl of watermelon sticks to kids as a pre-cursor to dinner anytime we have guests over in the summer, when they're starting to get hungry but the adults aren't ready for the main meal quite yet. Buys us a little extra time, and the kids are THRILLED with their own special snack. Win/win! Will you try this method for cutting watermelon this summer?
Reader T says: "Every slice disappears, every single time. And by kids, I mean all ages, including middle and high schoolers!!" ▶️ Watch How to Do It! More Watermelon Recipes: Happy eating! |
