| Rain Disrupts Travel Heavy rain in the Phoenix Valley on Sunday led to flooded roads, delays, and car accidents, with the impacts continuing into Monday morning. The area's first measurable rainfall since April 18 dropped 0.24 inches of rain on Phoenix, breaking the previous June 1 record of 0.02 inches set in 1914. The rain created slick roadways and other dangerous driving conditions, resulting in a serious four-vehicle accident on Loop 101 that temporarily closed the interstate. Several collisions also took place near Scottsdale. Transportation officials shared a picture of a flood-related closure on westbound 101 early Monday morning. All roadways have since reopened. | Mountain Lion Killed as Sightings Grow A Buckeye man shot and killed a mountain lion last week after it attacked him and his dog during a walk in the Verrado neighborhood, one of several recent sightings in the community.
