Hi Friends, I'm popping in today to share a long-overdue personal update. Don't worry—you'll get a great recipe tomorrow! I just wanted to take a moment to say hello(!) and share a bit of what I've been eating and loving so far this summer. In-Season Obsession: AsparagusWe spent most of May in Austin, so when we arrived back in Chicago last week, I had one mission: to eat as much asparagus as possible before the season ends! I've grilled it, blanched it, tossed it into salads, and sautéed it with eggs. I especially loved this Asparagus and Snap Pea Chopped Salad and this Asparagus, Scallion & Herb Pizza… that is… until I dropped the pizza on the floor. Sad face. Sometimes We Eat OutThis carrot tostada with smoked carrots and salsa macha at Nixta Taqueria in Austin completely blew my mind. Oh, the amazing things carrots can do. And because we eat tacos in Chicago too, here's a pic from Antique Taco, our favorite taco spot here. A Rare Family PicWe took Ollie to Disney World, and I had to bribe him with giant lollipops to get him to stand still for these family photos :). But no bribes were necessary to stop and smell the flowers at Green City Market—Ollie LOVES flowers.
