Bolzano Apple Cake, Apple Dutch Baby, The Easiest French Apple Tart & More 🍏🍎 Recipes to Make Right Now

Friends, hello! And happy fall.

Earlier this week my mother-in-law dropped off a bag of apple cider donuts from our favorite spot, Riverview Orchards. One bite of the warm, cinnamon-sugar shrouded treat sent me straight into fall-baking mode, and I drafted a weekend baking agenda: apple Dutch baby for breakfast, Bolzano Apple Cake for dessert, skins-on applesauce for snacking in between. Next week a friend is coming to town, and I'll be making the above-pictured French apple tart, which looks so pretty and is surprisingly easy to make.

I hope you all find time to bake something delicious for yourselves this weekend πŸπŸƒπŸ‚πŸπŸƒπŸ‚

10 Apple Recipes to Make Right Now

This Apple Dutch Baby, an old Gourmet recipe, is so much fun to make: it rises dramatically in the oven, then collapses, the fruit slumping into the custardy batter beneath.

Bolzano Apple Cake (a 20-year favorite!)

Teddie's Apple Cake: Made with oil as opposed to butter, this one is incredibly moist and so, so delicious.

Apple Frangipane Galette: Made with foolproof pie dough πŸŽ‰.

Homemade Applesauce: The key to brilliantly hued applesauce? Simmer the apples with the skins on. Use deeply red colored apples. I have great success with Empire apples.

Applesauce Bundt Cake: I learned this recipe from a neighbor years ago. Thanks to a heap of both applesauce and yogurt, this cake is incredibly moist and stays that way for days.

Apple Orchard Muffins with an irresistible turbinado crust.

Apple Cobbler with Hot Sugar Crust: From Kristen Miglore's Genius Desserts cookbook, this one calls for pouring hot water over the batter just before baking ... feels wrong, but it's oh, so good.

Cinnamon-Spiced Apple Date Butter: Great over toast! A great gift, too.

Apple Pie Overnight Oats: Such a treat to wake up to.

PS: One-bowl pumpkin bread: Tis the season!

A New (and Genius) Way to Romesco

In Friday's pizza newsletter I shared a romesco recipe from Joe Yonan's new cookbook. The method is genius and the sauce is delicious! Get the details here:

"I used this recipe to make the muffins and they were delicious! I followed the recipe exactly, cooking the muffins for 22 minutes and they were perfect. I will absolutely be adding this recipe to my "keepers" binder!"
